I wasn’t sure what to expect with this book but I saw that it was offered free threw the publisher and it sounded interesting in the description. (Note; this is the first of anything I’ve read by this author) The story itself is quite riveting and it was hard not to get emotional while reading it; feeling the anger and frustration for the female leads because of there station’s in life. (one from farm county, wearing men’s clothing and doing a mans job. While the other from Upper class upbringing is a school teacher rebelling from an abusive, bully of a father) Meeting and falling in love It’s decided early on that because of rapid circumstances in order to be together they would have to leave the only life they’ve ever known. That includes all those they love behind to start a new life/adventure to Canada. To be free to love without outside interference and on there terms. Yet, Things don’t go as smoothly as they planned and not everything is what it seems… Uncertainty, courage, terror, true love, revenge, compassion and loss brought threw the harshest of reality’s don’t always give you a happy ending, So it’s lead to believe…At times I found I wanted to scream at these characters. I was feeling the twist and pull of heartbreak when one lead character could no longer find her way in this new life they created and the least expected of the two found it to be Home. That being said, A lot happened in this story characters were well defined, the plot was twisting, and I found it hard to put down. It was definitely a roller coaster for these main characters and myself ��. Many of the secondary characters in this book were spot on and well written into the storyline. There was a HEA which makes ME happy! I definitely recommend this book and look forward to searching out and reading something else by this author. 5⭐️
